What to Expect During Your Appointment
Every women’s haircut at Numi follows a simple process designed to make sure you leave happy with the result.
Consultation. Your stylist will ask what you’re looking for, what you like (and don’t like) about your current cut, and how much time you typically spend styling. This is the most important part of the appointment. Bring reference photos if you have them.
Shampoo and prep. We start with a shampoo and light conditioning treatment so your stylist can work with clean, hydrated hair. This also gives them a chance to feel your hair’s natural texture and density before cutting.
The cut. Whether it’s a one-length bob, textured layers, a pixie, or a long trim with face-framing pieces, your stylist will cut based on the plan you built together. Adjustments happen in real time. If you want more or less taken off, just say the word.
Blowout finish. Every haircut includes a professional blowout so you can see the final shape and movement of your new cut. Your stylist will walk you through simple at-home styling tips specific to your cut before you leave.
Most women’s haircut appointments take 45 to 60 minutes. Gabriel’s appointments may run slightly longer to accommodate the extended consultation.
Finding the Right Cut For Your Hair
Fine or thin hair. Blunt cuts and one-length bobs tend to create the illusion of thickness. Heavy layering can make fine hair look thinner, so ask your stylist about subtle internal layers or texturizing instead. Read more in our guide to the best haircuts for fine hair.
Thick hair. Layers are your friend. Without them, thick hair can feel heavy and lose its shape between appointments. Long layers, shags, and textured cuts help remove bulk while keeping volume where you want it.
Curly and wavy hair. Curly cuts should be done by someone who understands shrinkage and how curls behave when dry. Many of our stylists cut curly hair dry or use a combination of wet and dry cutting to ensure the final shape is balanced.
Growing it out. If you’re in an awkward growth phase, a maintenance trim every 8 to 10 weeks keeps things looking intentional. Your stylist can reshape without losing length, especially around the face and neckline.
