From Subtle to Statement
All-over color application for a fresh shade change, full gray coverage, or a subtle tone adjustment. Single process is the most straightforward color service we offer: one formula, one application, applied root to tip or as a root touch-up between full appointments.
Our colorists work with permanent, demi-permanent, and ammonia-free formulas (see below) depending on your hair’s condition and your color goals. Every appointment includes a consultation, application, processing time, shampoo, and blowout.

What to Expect During Your Appointment
Most single-process appointments take 60 to 90 minutes from start to finish. If you’re adding a glaze for extra shine and tone, add about 20 minutes.
Color Process Options.
Permanent Color
Full coverage that lifts and deposits pigment in one step. This is the go-to for gray coverage, darkening, or going up to two shades lighter. Results last until new growth comes in, typically 4 to 6 weeks for roots.
Demi-permanent color
A gentler option that deposits tone without lifting your natural pigment. Ideal for adding warmth, richness, or shine without a hard line of demarcation as it grows out. Fades gradually over 20 to 24 washes.
Root touch-up
Color applied to new growth only, blending your roots with the rest of your hair. Most clients come in every 4 to 6 weeks for root maintenance depending on how fast their hair grows and how much contrast there is between their natural color and their applied shade. Root touch-ups are faster and less expensive than a full all-over application, making them the most practical way to keep your color looking fresh between full services.
A two-step service that involves lightening the hair first, then applying a second color or toner on top. Double process is the right choice when you want to go significantly lighter than your natural base, achieve platinum or near-white results, or apply a vivid fashion color that requires pre-lightening to show up properly. Processing time is longer than a standard single process (typically 2 to 3 hours), and your colorist may recommend a bond-building treatment during the lightening step to protect the hair’s integrity. Consultation is recommended for all double process services so we can evaluate your starting color, hair condition, and the number of sessions needed to reach your goal safely.
Ammonia-Free Color: L'Oreal INOA
For clients with sensitive scalps or anyone who prefers a gentler formula, we offer L'Oreal INOA. It's a professional ammonia-free permanent color that delivers full gray coverage, vibrant tones, and up to 3 levels of lift without the harsh smell or scalp irritation. INOA uses an oil delivery system that leaves hair feeling softer after the service. Ask your colorist if INOA is right for you. Learn more about ammonia-free hair color
Finding the Right Color For You
Not sure whether single process is the right service? Here’s a quick guide.
Choose single process if: you want all-over color, gray coverage, a shade change darker or slightly lighter, or you want to refresh faded color. It’s the simplest, most affordable color service.
Consider balayage if you want natural, hand-painted dimension with low-maintenance grow-out. Great for clients who don’t want to commit to regular root touch-ups.
Consider full head highlights if you want all-over brightness with dimension and contrast. Highlights use foils to create defined ribbons of lighter color throughout.
If you want to understand the difference in more detail, our blog post on balayage vs highlights breaks it down side by side.
