WHAT TO EXPECT DURING YOUR APPOINTMENT
Most color corrections take 60 to 90 minutes from start to finish. Severe cases may extend to 4-6 hours or require a second appointment 3-4 weeks later to protect your hair from over-processing.
COLOR CORRECTION PROBLEMS WE FIX
Brassy Blonde
You wanted cool, ashy, or platinum blonde. You got brass. This happens when hair is lifted but the underlying warm pigment isn’t properly neutralized. The fix is a custom toner or glaze formulated for your specific tone. Usually one appointment.
Uneven Box Dye
Box dye reacts unpredictably with your specific hair. It often comes out patchy, much darker than the box, or develops a brassy cast over time. We fix it with targeted color removal, custom recolor, and bond-building treatment. Usually 1-2 appointments.
Orange Roots from At-Home Lightening
Lightening at home almost always pulls orange first because warm pigment lifts before cool pigment. Professional lifteners and toners get you the rest of the way to the shade you actually wanted. Often combined with highlights or a light balayage to blend.
Green Tones from Pool Chlorine
Chlorine reacts with copper minerals in pool water, especially on blonde or color-treated hair. A clarifying treatment plus a corrective gloss removes the green and restores your natural tone. One appointment, usually under 90 minutes.
Failed At-Home Bleaching or Over-Processed Hair
Bleach over previously colored or damaged hair causes uneven lift and breakage. Correction starts with repair using Olaplex or K18, then carefully restores color over 2-3 sessions to avoid compounding the damage.
Color Banding
A visible stripe where old color meets new growth or a previous color job. Caused by repeated overlap during root touch-ups. One of the hardest problems to fix because each section of the hair needs a different formula. Multi-session approach is often required.
Ammonia-Free Color: L'Oreal INOA
For clients with sensitive scalps or anyone who prefers a gentler formula, we offer L'Oreal INOA. It's a professional ammonia-free permanent color that delivers full gray coverage, vibrant tones, and up to 3 levels of lift without the harsh smell or scalp irritation. INOA uses an oil delivery system that leaves hair feeling softer after the service. Ask your colorist if INOA is right for you. Learn more about ammonia-free hair color
FINDING THE RIGHT FIX FOR YOU
Not sure what your hair needs? Here’s a quick guide:
- Choose a Toner Refresh if your color is mostly right but slightly brassy, faded, or off-tone. Quick fix, lower cost.
- Choose a Glaze if you want shine, a tone shift, or to refresh faded color between full appointments. No grow-out line.
- Choose Standard Color Correction for box dye fixes, uneven color, orange roots, or any single-issue correction. Most clients fall here.
- Choose Multi-Session Correction if your hair is heavily processed, severely damaged, or you’re making a major change (dark to blonde, blonde to brunette, etc.).
