Suzette
Suzette moved from San Francisco to NYC in 2005 to study color at one of the city’s top salons, Bumble & bumble. Having worked with some of the best editorial colorists in the industry, including Lena Ott and Aura Friedman, she has learned from the best. She took her skills to Mizu where she was on the team that set up the color education program in that salon. She loves to teach and mentor new colorists and continues to teach in salons in the city.
Specializing in balayage, Suzette is obsessed with natural looking color. She loves a ‘no maintenance’ look only requiring color when the client wants more, not because of a strong line of grow out. This also maintains the integrity of the hair from not over highlighting. She keeps up with the new trends in color ranging from beautiful natural color all the way to bright white blondes and unicorn hair.
What Suzette likes best about this industry is making people feel good. “When I see a smile on the client’s face during the blow dry, it makes me love what I do.” She’s a confidence builder, bringing out the beauty in others, and sharing some laughs along the way.
