Brazilian Blowout
The Brazilian Blowout is the most popular smoothing treatment at Numi. It reduces frizz and adds shine without eliminating your natural texture. If you have wavy or curly hair and want to keep some movement while cutting your blowout time significantly, this is the go-to option. Keratin Complex (Formaldehyde-Free)
Keratin Complex is a formaldehyde-free formula that delivers stronger smoothing than a Brazilian Blowout. It works well on thick, coarse, or very frizzy hair and lasts up to five months. Lasio is a deep smoothing treatment designed for clients who want their hair as straight and sleek as possible. It works on all hair types, including very curly and coarse textures, and results last four to six months. The appointment takes two or more hours depending on hair length and thickness. Magic Sleek is our longest-lasting smoothing treatment and Numi’s highest-tier option. It is completely formaldehyde-free and uses organic acids to restructure the hair. What To Expect During Your Appointment
Every keratin treatment at Numi follows the same general process, though timing varies by formula.
Consultation. Your stylist will look at your hair, ask about your styling routine, and confirm which treatment is the best fit. If you have not had a keratin treatment before, this is the time to ask questions.
Shampoo and prep. Your hair is washed with a clarifying shampoo to remove product buildup and open the cuticle. This step is important because it allows the keratin formula to absorb evenly.
Application. The keratin formula is applied section by section from root to tip. Depending on the treatment and your hair length, this takes 30 minutes to an hour.
Processing and sealing. A flat iron is used to seal the keratin into the hair shaft. Your stylist works through small sections at a controlled temperature to lock in the treatment.
Blowout and finish. You leave the salon with smooth, finished hair. Some treatments (like the Brazilian Blowout) allow you to wash your hair the same day. Others require a 48 to 72 hour waiting period before getting your hair wet. Total appointment time ranges from 90 minutes (Brazilian Blowout) to 3+ hours (Lasio, Magic Sleek) depending on the formula and your hair.
Formaldehyde-Free Options at Numi
Safety is a fair concern when it comes to keratin treatments. Some traditional formulas contain formaldehyde or formaldehyde-releasing ingredients, which is why Numi carries multiple formaldehyde-free alternatives.
Both Keratin Complex and Magic Sleek are completely formaldehyde-free. They deliver the same smoothing and frizz-control results using safer bonding technology.
